Passing. Running. Searching. Stop.
Bodies in the urban space. Choreographed by light.
Julia Novacek (1989, Austria) examines the urban space at night. The documentary video material presents silhouettes, moving through the streets of Jerusalem. If light is the only source to find orientation at night, every step becomes part of a complex urban choreography. Light does not only dominate the scenery as guidance but frames the specific situation’s affection. Novacek transfers her concept to the audience: while passing by, the installation becomes a spatial experience of the everyday route. A walk through the night. walk.
